Simultaneous screwing with impressive precision
IBG developed a semi-automatic assembly system for mounting high-voltage batteries on the underbody of electric vehicles for Austria's largest car manufacturer. Once the assembly table has been loaded and released by a worker, it moves automatically and safely into the assembly position via a floor-mounted rail system.
The multi-stage floating mounting of the battery holders and screwdrivers guarantees optimum alignment of the battery to the vehicle. With a total of 26 EC screwdrivers, the bolting process is automated and simultaneous.
The worker safety of the system is guaranteed at all times in the shared work areas by non-contact safety systems and sensors.
