Absolute world first: modular format for flexible production
iPROCELL offers the possibility of producing small and very small series of vehicles (usually in the field of electromobility), but also other products such as furniture or electronic items, from modular assemblies. IBG's innovative solution is an absolute world first and comprises a fully automated final assembly cell with two robots and automated guided vehicles. The main innovation is the type of assembly in which robots and transport systems collaborate symbiotically and assemble modules into finished products. IBG integrates its own state-of-the-art gripper technologies to enable the cost-effective assembly of small batches and utilises the modular format for complete flexibility in production.
iPROCELL is a fully automated final assembly cell with autonomous robots arranged around a central assembly station and driverless transport systems. This layout offers a footprint that is 12 times smaller than conventional production lines. We have incorporated our patented, state-of-the-art gripper technology for fully customisable, programmable robot heads. This enables cost-effective assembly of small batches. Our modular format allows for completely flexible manufacturing and meets increasing customer demand for ever more customised products.

The majority of cars and other mass-produced items are nowadays manufactured in fully or largely automated assembly plants. These lines are complexly designed to produce a large number of identical products at a centralised location. As a result, these production lines have a limited capacity for variation. Before iPROCELL, producing a small series at a reasonable price was an almost insurmountable challenge.
