smartBOND
Joining innovative materials in shipbuilding production using an automated bonding process
In the SmartBOND joint project, the partners involved want to jointly develop and validate technological and organizational solutions that aim to establish bonding technology in shipbuilding by increasing product quality, productivity and healthy and attractive working conditions.
The aim of the IBG sub-project is to carry out the development of innovative, functional sub-systems, taking into account as much automation as possible. This applies in particular to the handling processes related to the preparation of the surfaces of the components (lightweight walls and panes), the implementation of the gluing process as well as process monitoring and quality assurance. All subsystems (robots, AGV, grippers, etc.) are thus developed, built and tested and installed in the demonstrator.
